Over the weekend of July 24^th and 25^th the Peterborough Boom SC (ie. U14 Girls All-star Team) competed in the 4^th Annual Lake Simcoe All-star tournament.  This is the first year of existence for this team and the first tournament of the year and we are glad to report that they won the tournament.  The Boom had a win and 2 ties in the round robin portion of the tournament and this was enough to qualify them for the final.  The final game was against a very strong side from Markham.  Although they were much  smaller overall and were getting bounced around quite a bit, the Boom remained patient and resilient on their way to a hard fought 2-1 victory.  This is the first time a girls All-star team from Peterborough has won a tournament in their first year of existence.  Well done girls, you deserved it!
