April Newsletter for PYSC
Dear
referees,
- Please make sure that you read the
emails and newsletters that I send you. I am trying to keep it short.
The least you can do is read them. Some of you are still asking me
questions that have already been answered in the previous newsletters.
- The referee’s corner on our website at
www.pysc.on.ca has been
updated. Please read it carefully. This year there are few changes, e.g.,
new fee formula (as per the guidelines from the OSA, you will get paid
based on the age division that you will referee); new discipline
procedures (all yellow cards and red cards will go to Christine Orton and
to her only); new rules for Mini Soccer (The Under 10 group age is
excluded from the retreat rule). Please check it out.
- Our next and last educational clinic
(you must attend one of three clinics that we offer) is on Thursday April
8 at 7:00pm at Eastgate Park Building (Please notice that it is not the
Comfort Inn anymore as it was announced in the past but rather the
Eastgate Park building). The instructor will be Ganesh Shanmugan and the
topic will be “Man Management”. Please note that the referees who are
attending or have attended this year the Entry Level clinic or the Mini
Referees clinic don’t have to attend the educational (refreshing) clinic.
- Our Entry Level Clinic on March 27
& 28 went fine. Also, we are looking forward to the Mini Referees
Clinic on April 11 (only for the returning referees). We have just set up
a new Entry Level Clinic for people who want to become referees, on June
12 & 13.
- Registration with OSA has not started
yet, due to technical difficulties. Therefore, the deadline has been
postponed to April 30. Please check their website regularly and follow the
instructions when it will be activated. Please note that the referees who
are attending or have attended this year the Entry Level clinic or the
Mini Referees clinic don’t have to register with OSA since they are
already registered in the system.
- Last but not least, some of you are
applying for summer jobs. Out of courtesy, when you put my name down as a
reference, you should at least ask first, or at least inform me of the
fact. I wouldn’t recommend that you put my name down without asking first.
- Our season starts in May.
Thank
you,
Fevri
