August Newsletter                                                                                                    2011

Dear referees of PYSC,

The season is almost over and I have the pleasure to inform you that things are running fairly smoothly. So far we have gone through Week #1 to Week #12 plus the make up games this week. There are only 3 weeks left till the end of August plus the Playoffs in September. Some of the issues we dealt with:

-         I have requested from the executive to relax the rule of changing sides at half time for mini soccer since some refs are running into coaches who would rather not switch ends. I do understand that the parents of young players would like to stay close to their little ones therefore they would prefer not to change halves.

-         We are having again a shortage of refs on Tuesday nights so I have included in our list of refs some senior refs from the local branch and some young refs that attended the mini clinic near other branches or locations.

-         I did sent out last month all cheques via mail and breakdown via email and no one complained which I presume reflects the fact that the calculations were right and the refs got their cheques in mail as well.

-         I do get fewer emails from our statistician about refs being late which means that you are getting better at reporting on time.

-         I am keeping in touch with all club members and so far most of the comments that I am receiving about the refs are positive and it is nice to hear that.

-         One little comment that I had from our DRC and some senior refs in address to the younger refs: Please make sure that you pull up your socks, tuck your shirt in, look sharp and professional.

So generally speaking things are running according to the plan. Just a little suggestion: If you are available on Tuesday night ( for those three weeks that are left on the season) please make sure to email me and let me know as usual on the Friday prior to the week.

Thank you,

Fevri Pazari
